We are an engineering company focused on wireless and high frequency product design. Services include subsystems design, circuit and PCB design, mechanical design and fabrication, and small scale manufacturing. Paul Finkel Consulting was founded in 2001 and is based in Redwood City, California, at the Northern end of Silicon Valley.
Electrical design tools include: OrCAD schematic capture, Genesys (by Agilent) RF and microwave design software, PADs PCB circuit board design suite, SPICE, SysCalc receiver analysis. We also have two complete labs including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and the usual power supplies and assembly/rework tools.
In addition to the two principal designers, PFC has a cadre of vetted subcontractors specializing in ATE Programming , microcontroller programming, mechanical and industrial design, switched mode power supply design, and electronic assembly.

We’re not an engineering company, so we relied on Paul to design and shepherd our product into production. He worked with us and our CM in Asia to design and build the first and second versions of our MicroSync – the smallest wireless photo controller. He solved tough mechanical and FCC/CE compliance problems and even added a feature that made the MicroSync immune to interference from other products. Also, when we’ve need technical advice or help solving an application problem, Paul’s been quick to respond with clear, straightforward explanations.
Ryan Cyr, Executive Vice President, TamracI had the pleasure of working with Paul on several versions of our product that involved RF and systems design. Paul is undoubtedly an expert in his field and has delivered consistently excellent results in a challenging start-up environment with tight deadlines, limited resources, and leading edge technology.
I would not hesitate to work with Paul again.
Paul was our Expert Witness and wrote a report that was pivotal in our client's victory. He combed through hunderds of documents and personally met with the client in Japan to collect and distill information down to a report that was detailed and authoritative, yet concise and easily understandable. I’d use him again on another case involving communication systems or microwave radios.
Richard E. Haskin, Esq.Paul’s attention to PCB layout details, understanding of 2G and 3G performance criteria and ability to pinpoint and solve RF interference problems was essential for our success. He built our RF lab from the ground up, trained FAEs, and produced persuasive technical marketing material. His application engineering work here and in our customers’ labs in Asia won Failchild’s RF DC-to-DC products multiple sockets.
